'Common Man Dying, Milords Are Gods?': Netizens Irked As 5-Star Hotel Rooms Reserved For Delhi HC Judges, Officers
<p>Amid rising cases of novel Coronavirus which has lead to acute shortage of oxygen tanks, beds and isolation centres in the national capital, the Delhi government has reserved 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel for setting up of a Covid Health facility for Justices and other judicial officers of the Delhi High Court and their families.</p> <p>The Arvind Kejriwal-led government on Monday directed The Ashoka hotel to convert 100 rooms into Covid-19 care centres. The so called five-star centre, to be managed by Primus Hospital, will give priority to Delhi high court judges and other judicial officers and their families.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <a href="https://ift.tt/3vm5R5Y Modi Discusses Evolving Covid-19 Situation With President Biden, Thanks US For Support</a></strong></p> <p>The order issued by Chanakyapuri sub-divisional magistrate Geeta Grover stated the following directions to the hotel for converting the premises to Covid care centre:</p> <ul> <li>Biomedical waste disposal will be the responsibility of the Hospital.</li> <li>The staff of the hotel shall be provided all protective gear and given basic adequate training.</li> <li>Ambulance for the transfer facility will be provided by the Primus Hospital.</li> <li>For any shortage of hotel staff, the same will be provided by the Hospital.</li> <li>All the services including rooms, housekeeping, disinfection & food for the patients, etc shall be provided by the hotel.</li> <li>The charges shall be collected by the hospital and the hospital shall make the payment to the hotel.</li> <li>The Primus Hospital may accommodate their doctors, nurses, and other paramedical staff at their own expense after deciding the rates mutually.</li> </ul> <p>Taking a note of the development, the citizens criticised the Delhi government for prioritising officials and judges at a time when common man is dying on road due to shortage of medical facilities.
