India Registers 1.86 Lakh Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Lowest In 44 Days; 3,660 Deaths

<p><strong>Covid in India:&nbsp;</strong> At 1.86 lakh cases, a declining trend in new cases continues. Daily new cases are lowest in the last 44 days. Active caseload further declines to 23,43,152 with active cases decrease by 76,755 in the last 24 hours.</p> <p>3660 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.</p> <p>With 2,59,459 patient recoveries reported during the last 24 hours, a total of 2,48,93,410 patients have recovered in the country so far. Recovery Rate increases to 90.34%</p> <p>Weekly positivity rate currently at 10.42% &amp; daily positivity rate at 9.00%, less than 10% for 4 consecutive days. A total of 20.57 crore vaccine doses administered so far.</p> <p>Total cases: 2,75,55,457 Total discharges: 2,48,93,410 Death toll: 3,18,895 Active cases: 23,43,152 Total vaccination: 20,57,20,660</p> <p>Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 33,90,39,861 samples tested up to May 27. Of these, 20,70,508 samples tested yesterday.</p> <p>Maharashtra's caseload of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) rose to 5,672,180 on Thursday, with the addition of 21,273 Covid-19 cases on the day, the latest bulletin issued by the Maharashtra health department showed. The daily toll due to the viral disease was recorded at 425, taking the total death toll to 92,225, the bulletin further showed.</p> <p>This is for the eighth straight day when Maharashtra's daily Covid-19 rise has been below 30,000. On May 19, the western state saw 34,031 fresh infections and 594 fatalities.</p> <p>&nbsp;Ranking after Maharashtra on the pandemic tracker, Karnataka's Covid tally crossed the 25-lakh mark, with 24,214 new cases in a day, while 476 succumbed to the infection, said the state health bulletin on Thursday.<br /><br />"With 24,214 new cases registered on Wednesday, the state's Covid tally shot up to 25,23,998, including 4,02,203 active cases, while 20,94,369 patients recovered so far, with 31,459 discharged during the day," said the bulletin.</p>
