Monkeypox Suspect From Telangana's Kamareddy Admitted To Fever Hospital, Samples Sent To NIV Pune

<p><strong>New Delhi:</strong> A 40-year-old man from Kamareddy district in Telangana has been shifted to Fever Hospital in Hyderabad after he manifested symptoms similar to that of monkeypox, officials said. According to reports, the person had returned from Kuwait on July 6 and on July 23 he developed skin rashes. The state health authorities urged the people not to worry as it is not a fatal disease.</p> <p>It is to be noted that the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Atul Goel on Sunday reviewed the monkeypox situation in the country and directed the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to carry out a detailed epidemiological investigation of the cases.</p> <p>It was highlighted that health facilities should keep a lookout for people who complain of an unexplained rash and have travelled in the last 21 days to a country that has recently had confirmed or suspected cases of monkeypox.</p>
