Rahul Gandhi Fires Salvo At 'King' PM Modi After Suspension Of Oppn MPs From Parliament, Poses 10 Questions

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has taken an aggressive stand against the Narendra Modi government on various issues. Rahul has asked 10 questions to PM Modi, taking a jibe at the government on the issue of inflation, unemployment, GST on common necessities, falling rupee, farmers and border disputes with China. Rahul also accused him of running a "dictatorship" where the MPs are "arrested" and ''suspended" for asking people's questions to the ''king''.</p> <p>In his Facebook post, former Congress President Rahul has addressed Prime Minister Modi as the 'King' of the country.&nbsp;</p> <p>"Why a cylinder for Rs 1053? Why GST on curd-cereals? Why Mustard Oil for Rs 200? The 'king' arrested 57 MPs and suspended 23 MPs for asking questions on inflation and unemployment," Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.</p> <p>Gandhi's comments came after the suspension of 24 opposition MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for disrupting proceedings in Parliament and the detention of Congress leaders who were protesting on the streets against the questioning of party chief Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case and the alleged "misuse of agencies".</p> <p>In a "non-stop dharna for 50 hours" in front of Mahatma Gandhi&rsquo;s statue in Parliament complex, The suspended MPs, Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, T N Prathapan and S Jothi Mani, staged a protest.</p> <p>"In the Monsoon session, we wanted to discuss the issues of the people with the prime minister. He likewise said that not a single recruitment had been in the military for a very long time and inquired as to why the young are being compelled to become 'Agniveer' on a four-year contract.</p> <p>"Chinese army has entered our borders in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, why are you silent and what are you doing?" he said in his sixth poser to the government.</p> <p>Claiming that insaurance firms made an advantage of Rs 40,000 crore through crop protection, Gandhi inquired as to why the government was quiet on its commitment of 'doubling farmers' income by 2022.</p> <p>"What happened to the promise to farmers of the right MSP? And what happened to the compensation to the families of the farmers who were martyred in the farmers' movement?" Gandhi said.</p> <p>"The debt of the central government was 56 lakh crore in 2014, now it has increased to 139 lakh crore, and by March 2023, it will be 156 lakh crore. Why are you drowning the country in debt?" Gandhi said. &nbsp; He said the list of questions is very long but the prime minister should first answer these 10 questions.</p> <p>"Threatening the Congress party will not end your accountability, we are the voice of the people and will continue to raise their issues," Gandhi asserted.</p> <p><em>(With PTI inputs)</em></p>
