Sonali Phogat Death Case: Haryana CM Khattar Says Govt Will Consider CBI Probe If Family Wants

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the state government is ready to order a CBI inquiry into the murder of BJP leader Sonali Phogat in Goa. Talking to reporters here, the CM said, "Whatever the family wants, we will do accordingly." it will be considered. CM Khattar said that he had talked to Goa CM Pramod Sawant and the police there about conducting a separate investigation from the initial theory that Sonali died of a heart attack.&nbsp;</p> <p>"I spoke with Goa CM and police officials. Phogat's family members have written a complaint suspecting murder," said ML Khattar.</p> <p>Significantly, Sonali Phogat, a resident of Hisar in Haryana, had a suspected heart attack after which she was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Anjuna in the North Goa district on Tuesday morning.&nbsp;</p> <p>After this, the police registered a case of unnatural death. The hospital had already formed a committee of two forensic experts to conduct the post-mortem. Phogat's brother had lodged a complaint with the Goa Police that she was murdered by two of his sister's associates. Sonali's brother Rinku Dhaka had on Wednesday claimed that she was murdered by two of her sister's associates. Histopathology and serological reports of the tissues preserved,&rdquo; the report said.</p> <p>&ldquo;However there are multiple blunt force injuries over the body. In view of the above, the manner of death is for the investigating officer to ascertain," it added.</p> <p><em>(With PTI Inputs)</em></p>
